All the pictures
in this website were taken with my Canon Poweshot 230 (European Name: IXUS v3) or with my Canon Digital Rebel (EOS 300D). This camera is truly fabulous. I really fancy the robust stainless steel casing. More important is the fact that I'm pretty pleased with the quality of the pictures taken. The colours and the contrast are pretty good for such compact camera.
A great source of information on digital cameras and a buying guide on them is Digital Photography Review. A tip for people without steady hands, like me. Get yourself a tripod. Low light shots are really hard to get sharp. The longer shutter time is very sensitive for unexpected movements. If you consider buying one, make sure it's a light one. My tripod is a Velbon 200
, which weights about one kilogram. The tripod costed me about €25, which is a fair price, I think. By the way, if you still get some blurred photos, don't throw them away, they can always be usefull as the background of a title page. Tip A starting point on learning how to take good photos is photo.net/learn.
Tip Almost all pictures, which are placed on this web site, can be found in The Photo Index. If you are interested in high resolutions version of any of them, then let me know.
